MISSION

The Aurora Business Project of the YMCA
is committed to helping lower income women realize their self-determining path. Auruora offers FREE training,support and loans for Women.

Since 1994,the NDG YMCA has been offering a community-based business training program aimed at helping women build their financial and personal autonomy. Focused on the needs of women developing micro-enterprises and home-based business, Aurora offers training in personal skills assessment and development,creating a business plan and personal financial management, a supportive group environment as well as individual counseling. At the end of training,participants can join a loan circle of 4 to 7 women and access loans up to $2,500.00(and up to $5,000 for subsequent loans). Aurora also offers long-term follow-up counseling,workshops and bursaries to loan circle members.

Morning and evening training sessions are available. Evening sessions are held,based on demand (intensive 17-week,153 hour program).
